The Art of Frugality

This Fall 2009 issue of Boston Home, a quarterly lifestyle publication from Boston magazine continues to be an awe inspiring read for me.  Not only is this issue packed with the best in kitchen design from local designers, builders and showroms, but a featured work by John Ross of Cambridge-based design duo Patch NYC.  Aptly called STUDY TECHNIQUES, this talented designer shows us two ways to design a library. "One enviable, one affordable"
For starters, the enviable room features a John Derian Dromedary love seat, $3,525.00, Lekker.  The affordable room a Battersea sofette, $2,998, Anthropologie.  The enviable room Ted Muehling candlesticks, $1,728.00, for set of three, E.R. Butler & Co. The affordable room Eva Zeisel candlesticks, $165.00 for set of three, Lekker.  The enviable room Chevron print, $3,200.00, Don Carney Studio.  The affordable room Whale art, $74.00, Urban Outfitters.  The enviable room Belmont coffee table, $1,985.00, Pompanoosuc Mills.  The affordable room Renard cocktail table, $1,620.00, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
The enviable room, a pair of dress shoes next to the love seat.  The affordable room, a pair of sneakers next to the sofette.  This designer really showed us how it is done.  And the finished rooms - BRILLIANT!
